The morning
weather of heavy storms and strong winds relented just before our latest bride,
Deonne, at Peter’s arrived in an open top car and bright sunshine. This set the
tone for a marvellous service in church to celebrate the marriage of Deonne and
Ian supported by a large congregation of friend and relations. |

After several weeks' work on the roof, the end of the recent work is now in sight. This week the Centenary Rooms have been cleared of the building material and we will again be able to use this wonderful facility throughout the week. The room has been dusted, the carpets and seats cleaned, removing the recent dirt and "an accumulation of squashed raisins, orange juice and digestive biscuits" as the cleaners were heard to say! |

You may have recently read in the Liverpool Echo the remarkable story of a Family History Internet group who have been searching for the grave of Robert Stead that was eventually located in or churchyard. When located the headstone, although in perfect condition had fallen flat. Following donations from the rootschat website group sufficent funds were raised to employ local stonemasons, Welsbys, tp repair and replace the stone, today as can be seen it is mission accomplished! |

Our excellent team of Bellringers are looking for more recruits.Teaching and bellringing practice is held in the tower on Friday evenings from 7:30 until 9:30. Many of our adult ringers have been ringing at Woolton since childhood and bellringing can be a great way of involving the family in a very positive service to the church and wider community of Woolton.Why not give it a try?

“Almost certainly the most important meeting in popular music history” is how the first meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney has recently been described. The meeting took place at St Peter’s Church Hall on the evening of Saturday, 6th July 1957........
Whilst waiting to play at the church dance that night, John Lennon and the other members of the Quarrymen Skiffle Group were introduced to the young Paul McCartney by a mutual friend. |
