The roof repairs are progressing well and
our roofers continue to enjoy the recent good weather. Work is on schedule at
the present time and hopefully will be completed shortly. You can rest assured
the work is being completed by skilled tradesmen and Kip’s visit (pictured) was
just a one off! Unfortunately the Centenary Rooms are still out of use for a
little while and we apologize for any inconvenience particularly before and after services. |

Hopefully in May the weather will turn brighter and our thoughts turn to summer, but please look through this month’s calendar and we trust you will be able to join us throughout the month |

Unfortunately for
Everton the star on the pitch at Goodison this week was not an expensive new
signing but our own 10 year old Olivia Nicholson. Olivia, a Bishop Martin
pupil, and regular at St Peter’s was watched by all her family including her
old Gran, Helen Dennett, our churchwarden. Playing for Liverpool Schoolgirls, Olivia
played a major part in the 3-0 Merseyside County School FA’s inaugural Everton
Trophy win over Wirral Schoolgirls. Well done Olivia! Doing what all Liverpool teams do naturally at Goodison |
Country verger to visitor admiring carved wooden bosses on altar rail: ‘Don’t touch them knobs. They are `oly knobs. Last time bishop came `e `adn’t got `is glasses an` `e confirmed two o` they!' On Sunday 18th May at 6.30 pm Bishop James will be coming to St Peter’s for this year’s confirmation service. It’s always a very special occasion. It’s a big event in people’s lives. It can only happen once. It comes after months of preparation. It involves major decisions and, like marriage, entails taking life long vows. |

However that is not the end of the story as the large headstone on the grave had over the years fallen face down (as in picture) and people of RootsChat.com have collected donations to have the stone set upright |

Our excellent team of Bellringers are looking for more recruits.Teaching and bellringing practice is held in the tower on Friday evenings from 7:30 until 9:30. Many of our adult ringers have been ringing at Woolton since childhood and bellringing can be a great way of involving the family in a very positive service to the church and wider community of Woolton. Why not give it a try?

“Almost certainly the most important meeting in popular music history” is how the first meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney has recently been described. The meeting took place at St Peter’s Church Hall on the evening of Saturday, 6th July 1957........
Whilst waiting to play at the church dance that night, John Lennon and the other members of the Quarrymen Skiffle Group were introduced to the young Paul McCartney by a mutual friend. |
