Thrive is a modern service led by young people which seeks to connect people of any age with God in an exciting (and less traditional) way. The next service is on Sunday 29th January 2017 at 5.30pm in St Peter’s Church Hall.
What Can I Expect?
We meet at 5.30 pm to share some food and get to know each other.
Thrive will start around 6.15 pm with modern worship led by our youth band.
This will be followed by a short message and some time in prayer led by one of the Cyfa group. There will then be an opportunity for you to join one of a number of smaller groups which will further explore the theme of each service.
Thrive – how it began….
Thrive has been put together by our Cyfa group who are 14-18 years old and meet each Sunday in term time. The name “Thrive” is inspired by the lyrics to the song Thrive by Casting Crowns. “We know we were made for so much more than ordinary lives, it’s time for us to more than just survive, we were made to thrive.”
The group felt that they wanted to create an event which allowed them to share their faith with others and meet with God in way that was more relevant to their age range than the more traditional Sunday morning services.
They also sometimes struggle to get up in the morning!
These were felt to be Thrive essentials:
- Food (enough said!)
- Modern worship
- A service that was not too long (short attention span!)
- Smaller groups that were more age relevant
- Fun (being in a relationship with God is not boring!)
So come along and THRIVE! All are welcome!
