Kip Crooks (our Rector at St Peter’s) has an exhibition at the Cathedral in the two weeks prior to Easter called “Journey to the Cross”.

The exhibition is a prayer journey created consisting of 15 paintings and accompanying sketches tracing Jesus’ last days from the last supper to his crucifixion and his rising again.

The pictures are sketched responses to the Bible story, made in paint using large brushes and at times put on with violence and brashness. The colours are cold and unwelcoming to match such a cruel part of Jesus’ story, but because love is there, warm colours break through.
