April Update - 6th July- "John met Paul"
ImageWe have had a number of enquiries regarding any proposed celebration to mark the first meeting of John and Paul 50 years ago on the 6th July 1957. At the present time a Flower Festival has been arranged from Friday, 15th June - Sunday, 17th June in the church. This will involve a number of groups from the local community creating a number of displays based on a Beatles song title. A couple of weeks later, on the 6th July, the Bishop of Liverpool will lead a service in church to mark the anniversary.

In the evening we still hope to hold a dance in the Church hall, the actual building where John met Paul, but plans have not been finalised as yet.
The following day the PTA of the local Bishop Martin School are hoping to mark the occasion by holding an event on the field where John & the Quarrymen played that fateful afternoon. Again nothing has been finalised at present as the PTA are exploring different ideas for presenting the event. We shall endeavour to keep the website updated on any changes or definite arrangements to our plans.
